KIDS LOVE TO CLIMB
Kids love climbing, it’s a very natural activity for them and many don’t get enough opportunity to do so. It helps build their strength, confidence, problem solving abilities, and they get to meet other kids, all while having fun and wearing themselves out (up goes the cheer from parents!).
We have kids climbing facilities for all ages and skill levels, including bouldering, auto-belays and top rope (see FAQs for age and weight limits plus supervision requirements).
So if the kids are driving you up the wall, drive them to Climbing Jungle where they can climb the walls – literally!
BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Climbing is a great birthday party event for kids. They get exercise, learn new skills, and have so much fun! Read more about our birthday party packages and book your upcoming parties here
DEDICATED KIDS CLIMBING WALL COMING SOON
We welcome and encourage kids at Climbing Jungle to improve their strength, problem solving abilities, and confidence. We look forward to opening our dedicated kids climbing wall in early 2023 which is especially designed for the little ones who are not ready for the regular bouldering or rope climbing walls. Please check back here for updates or subscribe to our Jungle Newsletter to get updates about the expected opening date (click the Subscribe button below). And give us a call if you have any other questions.
Kids Supervision Guidelines
We are a child friendly climbing gym and the safety of all climbers, from children to adults, is our highest priority. To achieve this we require adults who bring children to provide adequate supervision at all times. Please refer to the following guide for how many adults are required to supervise children in different age groups.
0-5 YEARS
1 PARENT PER CHILD
Children within this age group must have an adult within arms reach at all times providing direct supervision. This will ensure the safety of the child as they are unexpected to be able to understand or follow the rules at that age.
6-9 YEARS
1 PARENT PER 2 KIDS
Children of this age group must have constant supervision with an adult close by to provide guidance when needed. Children at this stage of development are beginning to observe and understand the rules concerning their safety.
10-12 YEARS
1 PARENT PER 4 KIDS
Children within this age group require an adult to only maintain a clear line of sight with their child. Children may climb with their guardians by taking turns as they are expected to understand the hazard concerns of the gym.
13-15 YEARS
1 PARENT PER 8 KIDS
Teenagers within this age bracket may be supervised from a distance as they are expected to be able to understand and apply the gym etiquette and safety rules for themselves and others in the gym. We also encourage youths to take on a leadership role by providing a good example for the younger climbers.
The Climbing Jungle understands that families or groups may have children and teens spread across various age groups where a common sense approach will be adopted when it comes to supervision, with the exception of children under five where a 1:1 ratio must be adhered to at all times.
